I made this in order to make a high protein meal with a modest amount of calories. It has about 450 calories and about 50 grams of protein. And the cost of ingredients is about $4, versus about $10 for a meal at a fast food restaurant. Who says eating healthy is expensive? Frozen wild-caught tuna steaks can be found at Aldi or Wal-mart for a good price. If you buy six boxes of The Only Bean Edamame Pasta at once it's a pretty reasonable price, and I go through it fast. With 25 grams of protein a serving, it's still a cheap source of protein.
Ingredients:
Bowl
Teriyaki Sauce
Procedure:
Make the teriyaki sauce: Mix molasses, sweetener, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, sesame oil, and powdered ginger in a bowl.
Cook the tuna: Rub the tuna with soy sauce and dip in sesame seeds. Sear on medium high heat on both sides. Cook until desired doneness(I like mine blue rare). Slice the tuna and set aside.
Cook the noodles: Follow the instructions on the box for cooking the edamame pasta, and subtract one minute from the total cook time. Alternatively, in a microwave safe loaf pan microwave for four minutes. Drain the pasta and rinse with water. Melt tallow in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the drained pasta to the pan and coat with the teriyaki sauce. Cook it until it starts to become crispy(3-4 minutes).
Assemble the bowl: Add the fried noodles to a bowl, top with sliced tuna, poached egg, pickled carrots, and green onions. Garnish with sesame seeds.
