I'm starting a new category for my blog for beverages. I'll be doing things like mocktails, expresso/cold brew drinks, flavored water, and natural sugar-free energy drinks. This is for a lime, basil, and mint mocktail. A super cold beverage served in a cocktail glass with meringue and bitters on top. Most mocktails I'll be doing will use white balsamic vinegar in place of liquor. If you don't want to use a raw egg white, you can buy Wilton Meringue Powder at Walmart, or if you're eating organic like me, buy Nutricost organic egg white protein powder off the Walmart app. Beverage recipes will be formatted a little differently, showing the process of making the beverage.

Instructions

Place the vinegar, lime juice, basil leaves, allulose, and mint extract in the bowl of a mortar and pestle.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

Muddle everything together to infuse the basil flavor.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

Place the mixture in a cocktail shaker, add the egg white or egg white powder and add seltzer.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

Use the Aerolatte to whip the beverage until the egg white starts to form meringue.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

Completely fill up the liquid with ice and stir for one minute. You want the drink to be ice cold.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

Use a cocktail strainer to strain the liquid into a separate glass. Get the ice out, but it's okay if some chunks of basil leaf are in the liquid.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

With the ice strained out of the drink, whip it up a little more with the Aerolatte.

Lime Basil Mint Mocktail

Pour into a cocktail glass(use a chilled glass if desired), put some angostura bitters on top, if desired run a toothpick through the bitters to make heart shapes.
